About Habibi Foundation

A Ugandan foundation built for children, youth and women in need.

Habibi Foundation Uganda (HAFU) is a registered community-based organization under the directorate of community-based services, Nansana Municipality (Reg NMC/CBO/957/21). Founded in August 2017 by Miss Birungi Shillah, our main objective is empowering, motivating and counseling children, youth and women.

We provide education, school requirements, meals, medical care and free counseling — plus food supplies and home basic needs to families who need them most.

Why Habibi Foundation

Rooted in Nansana.
Trusted by the families we serve.

We're not a fly-in charity. We live in Kazoo village, walk the same paths as the children we support, and show up every week — not just on camera days.

01

Rooted in Nansana

We were founded in Kazoo, Nansana sub-county in Wakiso District, and every program starts with the neighbours around us.

02

Care before charity

Our approach is counseling first, then material support, so the help we give holds up long after we leave.

03

One team, full wrap-around

Education, meals, medical, and family counseling are run by a single team, no cracks for a child to fall through.

04

Free at the point of need

Medical consultation, meals, school fees, and scholastic materials are free for the children and single parents we serve.

Community we serve

Standing with the most vulnerable in our community.

HAFU walks with orphans, less privileged children, youth, and single parents living with HIV/AIDS — plus the volunteers, schools and health partners who make it possible.
